THE START OD SOMETHING NEW!  I've paired with my twitter twin to host Natalie D Richard's DEBUT NOVEL, Six Months Later! This is a (week after) release day party! Come using the hashtag #SML, talk to Natalie about her new book (which is kind of completely awesome) and erm... there are prizes involved!

For those who need them, BOOK DETAILS!:

Title: Six Months Later
Author: Natalie D. Richards
Pub Date: October 8th, 2013
Publisher: Sourcebooks Fire
Page Count: 336

Chloe didn't think about it much when she nodded off in study hall on that sleepy summer day. But when she wakes up, snow is on the ground and she can't remember the last six months of her life. Before, she'd been a mediocre student. Now, she's on track for valedictorian and being recruited by Ivy League schools. Before, she never had a chance with super jock Blake. Now he's her boyfriend. Before, she and Maggie were inseparable. Now her best friend won't speak to her.

What happened to her?

And why can't she remember?

Sounds awesome, right? Shhh, Just agree with me.

Here are the rules/tips/info-may-toe for the party. Come on, without this, it wouldn't function. Please also note that this is NOT set in stone. During the party, this is the plan, but again, anything can happen.

1. WHO: This party will be hosted by Moi (@BloggerFangirl) and Nova (@NovaBlogder). So you might just want to be following us. *wink* , just a tip.

2. WHERE: Twitter.

3. WHEN: October 8th at 7 PM ET. 6 PM CST, 5 PM MST, 4 PM PST. This will be a party for one hour.

4. WHAT: This is to celebrate the amazingness that is Six Months Later! Come and ask Natalie some questions. Make sure you've got some prepared, whether you've read the book or not! It will be super crazy! Also, Nat may not answer ALL questions, because twitter does have a limit. If your question is not answered, never fear! You can @ message her after the party too or later and if she's not busy, she'll reply!

5. PRIZES: We are giving away 2 prizes! We've got a copy of SML and some swag for a US winner and one for an INT winner. US peeps aren't eligible for the INT giveaway. We will also be doing a contest for each with a CHALLENGE! So keep your eyes peeled. Giveaways will be held midway and at the end of the party!

6. HOW: I recommend using a hashtag following site. I used to use tweetchat, but because it's shut down, is also quite useful. Just enter the hashtag SML and then log into your twitter account to tweet. Also, if you want a reply, make sure you use the hashtag. There is no guarantee I/NovaBlogder/Natalie will check our Mentions.

Six Months Later

She Has Everything She Ever Wanted. But Not Her Memory...
When Chloe fell asleep in study hall, it was the middle of May. When she wakes up, snow is on the ground and she can't remember the last six months of her life.
Remembering the truth could be more dangerous than she knows...

Review: OHMAGAWD, THIS BOOK WAS AMAZEBALLS, I loved it so much because of so many reasons! I am a sucker for Thrillers and this fit the bill! The plot was breathtaking and was so new! I didn't know what was going to happen, It was full of murder, mystery and plot twists. I saw nothing coming and I swear that Adam is my baby.
The characters were wonderful and I hated the evil ones. MAN, I CAN'T WAIT FOR NAT'S FUTURE WORK

Natalie lives in Ohio (Go Bucks!) with her techno-wiz husband, three amazing kids, and a seventy pound dust-mop who swears he's the family dog. Her psychological thriller, Six Months Later, will be released in October 1, 2013 by Sourcebooks Fire. Until then, you'll probably find her writing her next book or trying to wade through the towers of dog-eared paperbacks that have taken over her bedroom.

Fire & Flood Excerpt Reveal

OH OH OH OH OHHHH, FIRE & FLOOD REVEAL EXCERPT. I'm so excited to share it with ya'll! ENJOYYY

FIRE & FLOOD by Victoria Scott
Scholastic, February 2014
First Excerpt Reveal

I drove across the US of A, left my family without an explanation, and now I’m either too late or there was never anything here to begin with. F my life. Rearing back, I kick the door as hard as I can. Then I wrap both hands around the door handles and release a noise like a wild banshee as I pull back.
The doors swing open.
I’m not sure whether to celebrate or freak out. I decide to do neither and slip inside. As I walk around the inside of the museum, listening to the sound of my footsteps echo off the walls, I imagine I am moments from death. It’s sad, I think, that this is all it takes to break my sanity.
Two curling flights of stairs bow out from the first-floor lobby, and red and white tiles cover the floors. There are gilded picture frames everywhere. So many that I think the placement of the frames — and not their contents — is the real art. Everything, absolutely everything, smells like wax. I mosey up to an abandoned reception desk and leaf through the glossy pamphlets littering the surface. I hold one of the pamphlets up to my nose. Yep, wax.
I glance around, having no idea what to look for. Will there be a sign like at school registration? Students with last names A–K this way?
On my left, I notice a long hallway dotted with doors on either side. Nothing looks particularly unusual. But when I glance to my right, I spot something. There’s a door at the end of the corridor that has a sliver of light glowing beneath it. I’m sure it’s just an administration office, one where someone forgot to flip the switch. But I’ve got nothing better to go on, so I head toward it.
I pause outside the door, wondering if I’m about to get busted for B&E. Then I turn the handle and find myself at the top of another winding staircase.
You’ve got to be kidding me. What is this, Dracula’s bachelor pad?
I’ve watched a lot of scary movies, and I’ve learned nothing good is ever at the bottom of a winding staircase. Pulling in a breath and preparing myself to be eaten alive, I head down. My shoes are loud against the steps. So loud, I imagine they are intentionally trying to get me killed.

When I reach the final few stairs, I ready myself to look around the bend. My heart is racing, and I secretly pray the worst I encounter is an angry janitor with a wax addiction. I turn the bend — and my eyes nearly pop from my skull.
The enormous room is perfectly circular, dotted with candles to light the space. Surrounding the walls are rows and rows of dark, rich mahogany bookshelves. A large round table stands in the center of the red-and-white-tiled floor. The room is spectacular, but what it holds is so jarring, my ears ring.
Across every shelf, every spot on the table, every tile on the floor — are small sculptures of hands. And in a few of those hands — the ones still performing their duty — are eggs. There are only nine eggs left, it seems. For a moment, I imagine how amazing it would have been to see each hand holding an egg, but it’s enough just to see these nine.
The eggs seem to dance in the candle flame, and as I move closer, I realize why. The surfaces of the eggs are almost iridescent, their colors changing depending on how you look at them. They are different sizes, too; some as big as a basketball, others as small as a peach.
I don’t need the device in my pocket to tell me what my gut already knows.
This is the Pandora Selection Process.

Peace, Love and Fangirl,

Blog Tour Stop: Find Me by Romily Bernard

Hi guys! So yes, even though I'm Romily's assistant, I will be on her blog tours! It's far too fun to give them up! *wink*

Find Me.”

These are the words written on Tessa Waye’s diary. The diary that ends up with Wick Tate. But Tessa’s just been found . . . dead.

Wick has the right computer-hacking skills for the job, but little interest in this perverse game of hide-and-seek. Until her sister Lily is the next target.

Then Griff, trailer-park boy next door and fellow hacker, shows up, intent on helping Wick. Is a happy ending possible with the threat of Wick’s deadbeat dad returning, the detective hunting him sniffing around Wick instead, and a killer taunting her at every step?

Foster child. Daughter of a felon. Loner hacker girl. Wick has a bad attitude and sarcasm to spare.

But she’s going to find this killer no matter what.

Because it just got personal.

REVIEW; OH MY GOSH, GUYS. I READ THIS BOOK FAR BEFORE I WAS HER ASSISTANT AND I FELL IN LOVE WITH IT! The plot wasn't anything I had ever seen before and I loved it! It was fresh and it didn't bore you AT ALL. I loved the characters and even though, Lily did make me wanna scream, I loved her all the same. The plot twist about who was THE person, I DID NOT SEE COMING. I loved Find Me and EVERYONE SHOULD READ IT

                                                               5/5 stars

EXCERPT:I’m halfway through the remote computer’s firewall when Detective Carson parks on the other side of our street. This isn’t usually a time I like to be interrupted—actually, when I’m hacking, I never like to be interrupted, but because he makes my feet hit the floor so I’m ready to run, because he makes my heart thump bass lines in my ears, because it’s him and he’s back and I’m scared, I take a few minutes. I sit in the dark, watch the unmarked police car idle, and tell myself it’ll be okay.
After all, I’m prepared. I wired my foster parents’ security cameras to route the front yard video feed through my computer. I can see everything—the blacked-out sedan, the shadowy streetscape, the neighbors’ darkened houses—without leaving my desk. For a full five minutes, there’s nothing. No movement. No anything. This should be all kinds of uninteresting, but my palms still go slick.
It’s stupid to be scared. He can’t touch me now. Not when I have this shiny new life. My foster parents belong in a Disney movie. My sister and I live with them on the rich side of town. I’m not the same girl Carson turned in to social services.
Well, at least, that’s what I tell myself.
And, anyway, there could be plenty of reasons why he stops

Pretty Little Lies (Pretty Little Lies, #1)
Genre: Adult
Paperback, 276 pages

Published June 12th 2013
A little lie can change the course of everything. . .

Like every other eighteen-year-old in love, Olivia has dreams of spending forever with the love of her life. Luke is all she’s ever wanted – until she overhears something she was never meant to. In a matter of seconds, Olivia’s heart is shattered. Olivia handles it the only way she knows how - she runs- leaving behind her family, friends and the boy she loves.

Seeking comfort and an escape, Olivia finds it in resident bad boy Deacon. He’s everything Luke isn’t – and that’s fine with Olivia.

Now, seven years later, Olivia is older, wiser and headed back to Chicago looking forward to a fresh start and reconnecting with her best friend Pyper. What she doesn’t expect, is to come face to face with the boy she left behind and discover that even though she may have left, her feelings for him didn’t.

Can Olivia put aside the pain in her heart and trust Luke? Will the ties to her past ever let her go, or will she continue to let her life be affected by pretty little lies?

“This club is amazing!” I can’t keep from looking around, trying to take it all in. “How long did you say it has been open?”

“Not long, maybe a couple weeks now.” Pyper speaks loudly into my ear to be heard over the loud thump of the bass, “There was an article in the social section of the Tribune talking about the opening I guess, but I didn’t see it. A restaurant that closed down a while ago was here and the owner did a complete renovation, it seems. Caroline was talking about it at the spa the other day.”
“Well I’m really impressed, it’s fabulous. I’m glad we came.”
The bartender hands us our drinks and Pyper pulls bills out of her bra and slaps them on the counter. The bartender grins slyly at her, but Pyper turns and we start making our way to look for seats. With perfect timing, a few girls have just vacated a couch, so we snag their places before someone else beats us to it.
Pyper turns to me, takes a sip of her drink and then asks, “What article are you working on right now?”
“Funny you should ask, because I thought I would ask for your help on this one. I’m working on an article for Martini magazine. Each month, their magazine is comprised of a lot of sex related articles, along with the usual fashion fluff and celebrity interview.” I take a sip of my drink and continue, “The article I’m working on is Things You Should Never Say to a Guy. Want to weigh in?”
Pyper immediately smiles devilishly at me, “Absolutely. What do you have so far?”
“Well of course the worst thing you can say to a guy is, ‘Is it in yet?’”
Pyper laughs loudly, almost spitting out her drink in the process, “Yes! Definitely not a good thing to say! You may as well kill him instead. Less painful!”
Her reaction has me laughing too, “True. That would certainly be more humane! I don’t think I could ever do that to a poor guy! Next is the ever popular, ‘It’s not you, it’s me.’”
Pyper laughs and then admits, “I may or may not have used that line once or twice myself.”
“Why does this not surprise me, Pyper?”
“Hi ladies, excuse the interruption, but can I get you another drink?” A very petite blonde-haired waitress asks us, interrupting our conversation. Pyper answers, “That would be great! We are drinking vodka cranberries. Thanks!”
“Sure. Be right back.”
“Okay Olivia, what else have you got?”
“How about ‘Does this make me look fat?’”
“Oh! There are sixteen thousand possible answers to that question and any one a guy would mutter would be incorrect.”
“Exactly!” I laugh.
“How about ‘Size really does matter!’” Pyper suggests.
I snort at that one! “Yes, that or, ‘That’s it?’”
Pyper and I laugh so hard we can barely breathe!
While we are trying to catch our breath, a couple of guys walk up and stand in front of us. We look up into their smiling faces to see one guy has blonde hair and blue eyes, while the other has brown hair and brown eyes. They aren’t bad looking and they seem friendly. “Hi ladies, my name is Dylan and this is my buddy Ken. We couldn’t help but see you two laughing over here and we thought we would come over to see if we could be let in on the joke,” says blondie.
“Yeah. What are you two hot girls laughing so hard about?” says Ken. I really want to ask him where Barbie is. That would be rude though, and cheesy.
Pyper looks at me with a smirk. “Actually, I bet you boys would be able to contribute to our conversation. My friend Olivia here is writing an article for Martini magazine about the things a woman should never say to a guy. Care to weigh in?”
They both take seats, a little too closely, one on either side of us and we proudly tell them the answers we already have.
“Well you forgot, ‘You remind me of my Dad,’” Dylan suggests.
“Ewww! Don’t tell me you’ve actually heard that before!” Pyper gasps while wrinkling her nose in disgust.
Dylan just shrugs in answer, and Pyper and I giggle in response.
Ken says, “Oh my personal favorite, ‘Oh my God, thank you for the drink! I can’t believe the bouncer fell for my fake ID.’”
We all break into hysterics. I can’t help but ask, “Oh my gosh! What did you do?”
Ken looks at me like that is a crazy question, “Well I ran, of course.”
We all laugh harder, the alcohol we’ve consumed adding to the humor.
“Good contributions guys, thanks for being such good sports.” I definitely have some good material for my article.
While we’ve been chatting, the waitress returned with our replacement drinks we ordered, plus Ken and Dylan bought an additional round as well, slippery nipple shots for all of us. I’m definitely starting to feel more than just a buzz. I’m slightly nauseated and realize I haven’t eaten anything since we had a light lunch of a salad at the spa. Not good.
“So tell us ladies, how good of friends are you?” Ken asks raising his brows at us.
“We are best friends, pretty much sisters,” Pyper says. “Why do you ask?”
Ken looks at Dylan and the look they exchange makes me feel uneasy. “We were just wondering if maybe we could interest you in a foursome. You are both gorgeous, and with the way you two were laughing and talking with us, I know you find us attractive too, so what do you say the four of us get out of here and go make some fun of our own?” Dylan asks.
Pyper and I look at each other, totally grossed out and speechless.
“Hell to the no.” I tell them.
Before they can utter a response, Pyper tugs on my arm, “Come on, let’s go get our dance on!”
I smile and nod at her, words seem beyond my ability at the moment.
Pyper grabs my hand, tows me to the dance floor, and keeps going until we are in the middle of the moving mass of bodies, safely escaping the two creepers we left sitting on the couch. The speakers are blaring techno music and it feels like it’s echoing inside and outside my head. I close my eyes, trying to center myself and end up losing myself to the music. I raise my arms above my head and move my body to the beat. Pyper links her fingers with mine so we can make sure we stay together and not get pushed apart. I squeeze her hands gently and keep dancing.
I feel a body come up behind me, pressing against mine and it startles me. I open my eyes just in time to see Pyper being pushed flush against the front of my body because Ken is behind her pressing himself against her, which means the asshole at my back is Dylan. “What the hell?” Pyper asks.
“Dance with me baby,” Dylan slurs into my ear.
Dylan grabs my hips and slams his pelvis into my ass. I can feel his erection against me, and I am immediately uncomfortable and pissed off. “Pyper…let’s go.”
“Guys, we don’t want to dance, we are going to head home,” Pyper tries reasoning with them.
“I don’t think so,” says Ken. “You ladies have been teasing us all night, we know you want us, now let’s dance.” Ken smashes his hips into Pyper’s ass, making her slam against me again. Her head smacks into my mouth and I taste blood almost immediately. I cry out and cup my mouth with my hand. I can feel the inside of my mouth where my tooth just cut it starting to swell.
“Oh God, Olivia, I’m so sorry! BACK OFF YOU FUCKING ASSHOLES,” I hear Pyper start screaming, trying to get us away from Dylan and Ken, but they just won’t listen. People around us start to realize there’s a problem and finally, I see someone pull Ken away from Pyper. He’s a big guy and I hope he’s a bouncer. I’m still struggling to get away from Dylan when I hear, “Get the fuck off her.”
I freeze.
I can’t move.
I know that voice.
It haunts my dreams and my memories.
I am still cupping my mouth and I look over at Pyper, eyes wide to see her eyes matching my own while she’s looking at the person standing behind me.
I feel Dylan get pulled away from me and the voice I could never forget says, “Ian, escort both of them the hell out of here. They are not to return again, ever.”
I very slowly begin to turn around and look right into the eyes of Luke Easton. The first boy I ever truly loved. The first boy that ever broke my heart. My high school sweetheart. The boy that I’ve never been able to forget. The boy that was supposed to love me forever.
That boy is now a man and he takes my breath away, his blue eyes as mesmerizing as I remember.
I suck in a breath. I feel sick.
“Hello, Olivia.”
I remove my hand from my mouth, open it to respond…
And throw up on his feet.

Waiting On Wednesday: Rebel Belle by Rachel Hawkins

****"Waiting on Wednesday" is a weekly event hosted by Jill at the Breaking The Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating.****

My Pick this week is:
Rebel Belle
Rebel Belle by Rachel Hawkins
Expected Publication Date: April 4th, 2014 by Penguin
Harper Price, peerless Southern belle, was born ready for a Homecoming tiara. But after a strange run-in at the dance imbues her with incredible abilities, Harper's destiny takes a turn for the seriously weird. She becomes a Paladin, one of an ancient line of guardians with agility, super strength and lethal fighting instincts.
Just when life can't get any more disastrously crazy, Harper finds out who she's charged to protect: David Stark, school reporter, subject of a mysterious prophecy and possibly Harper's least favorite person. But things get complicated when Harper starts falling for him—and discovers that David's own fate could very well be to destroy Earth.
With snappy banter, cotillion dresses, non-stop action and a touch of magic, this new young adult series from bestseller Rachel Hawkins is going to make y'all beg for more.
AHEM, I AM SOUTHERN AND I AM A GIRL, THEREFORE I CLAIM THE TITLE OF REBEL BELLE. I'm just kidding (not really). I really lovee the synopsis for this book and since Rachel Hawkins is very awesome, I am very very sure that this book is going to be very awesome. ALSO Pink, How cool is that!

The Dollhouse Asylum by Mary Gray Review!

When the world is breaking all someone wants is safety.
A virus that had once been contained has returned, and soon no place will be left untouched by its destruction. But when eighteen-year-old Cheyenne wakes up in Elysian Fields-a subdivision cut off from the world and its monster-creating virus-she is thrilled to have a chance at survival. At first, Elysian Fields-with its beautiful houses and manicured lawns-is perfect. Teo Richardson, the older man who stole Cheyenne's heart, built it so they could be together. But when Teo tells Cheyenne there are tests that she and seven other couples must pass to be worthy of salvation, Cheyenne begins to question the perfection of his world.
The people they were before are gone. Cheyenne is now "Persephone," and each couple has been re-named to reflect the most tragic romances ever told. Everyone is fighting to pass the test, to remain in Elysian Fields. Teo dresses them up, tells them when to move and how to act, and in order to pass the test, they must play along. If they play it right, then they'll be safe.
But if they play it wrong, they'll die

I have deep love for this book. The characters were intense and well mapped out. Cheyenne was a great main character and she didn't annoy you like other MC's do. Teo, well I disliked Teo with a fiery passion and I'm mexican so I know how to hate! ;). Marcus, oh my dear sweet baby Marcus, he is awesome and HOW IS HE RELATED TO THE SCUM THAT IS TEO. I didn't like Cleo at first but she grew on me and she is a badass to the max!
The plot was very new and not like anything I had ever seen before! It was very fresh and didn't have any cliches which are my pet peeves. The writing style was wonderful, and didn't make you want to fall asleep as soon as you picked it up. It was fast-paced and not at all boring!
I can't wait to see what else Mary writes!

Blog Tour Stop: Fire In The Darkness

Fire in the Darkness by Stacey Marie Brown
New Adult Paranormal Romance
Published August 31, 2013 by Twisted Fairy Publishing
It's been four weeks since Ember Brycin witnessed what her powers are capable of. The Electrical Current Storm has turned Seattle, Washington into a natural disaster zone. The death toll is in the thousands with countless others homeless and hungry.
And Ember is the one who caused it. Something she will have to live with every day.
Those people who were unable to escape either turned quickly into gangs or live in shelters. Ember, on the other hand, can’t do either. With a price on her head and a Dark Dweller on her ass, she is constantly on the move. Both Light and Dark are hunting her for their own purpose to use her as a weapon or a pawn in the war between the Unseelie King of the Dark and the Seelie Queen of the Light.
Em needs help but doesn’t know who to trust: Lars, the mystery man Torin told her to find? Torin, the Seelie Queen’s personal knight, who has sworn to keep Em safe? Or Eli, who wants to turn her over to the Unseelie King, but whom she has an undeniable, intense connection with?
No matter what she chooses she will probably lose—her life or everything and everyone she loves.

Ok, so first time I heard of this series but they are AWESOME. I loved the plot and the characters and the complete writing style of it all! It flowed smoothly with few plot hitches. The characters were simply wonderful!

About Stacey

She grew up in Northern California, where she ran around on her family’s farm, raising animals, riding horses, playing flashlight tag, and turning hay bales into cool forts. Even before she could write, she was creating stories and making up intricate fantasies. Writing came as easy as breathing. She later turned that passion into acting, living and traveling abroad, and designing. Though she had never stopped writing, moving back to San Francisco seemed to have brought it back to the forefront and this time it would not be ignored.
