Not until identical twins Jared and Lukas Lockhart break into Kennedy's room and destroy a dangerous spirit sent to kill her. The brothers reveal that her mother was part of an ancient secret society responsible for protecting the world from a vengeful demon -- a society whose five members were all murdered on the same night.

Now Kennedy has to take her mother's place in the Legion if she wants to uncover the truth and stay alive. Along with new Legion members Priest and Alara, the teens race to find the only weapon that might be able to destroy the demon -- battling the deadly spirits he controls every step of the way.

True Love's First Kiss Cover Reveal!!

In the Enchanted World, true love’s first kiss is magic.
Nandana’s Mark, Book 1: When two half-faeries—Melia and her younger sister—are cursed under dreadful circumstances, true love’s first kiss is the remedy.

The Flower of Isbelline, Book 2: Nothing but true love’s first kiss can save Melia’s younger sister from blind ambition and ruin.

The Dragon Carnivale, Book 3: Melia must choose the freedom she cherishes or true love’s first kiss—and a relationship that promises to secure her place in the Whole.

The Queen of the Realm of Faerie is a fairy tale fantasy series that bridges the Mortal and Enchanted worlds. The main character, Melia, is an eighteen-year-old half-faerie, half-mortal. She lives in Illialei, a country in the Enchanted World, with her two sisters and their mother. Melia’s father has been exiled to the Mortal World, and her best friend is a pixie.

When the story opens in the first book, Melia is troubled by her dark moon visions, gossip she overhears about her parents at the local market, and the trauma of living among full-blooded faeries with wings—she doesn’t have any.

As the series unfolds, the historic and mystical forces that shape Melia’s life are revealed. Each step of her journey—to find the place where she belongs—alters her perceptions about herself, deepens her relationships with others, and enlarges her world view.

True Love’s First Kiss is a compilation of the first three books in this ongoing series

Heidi Garrett
The product of a verbally gifted family, Heidi Garrett is possibly the least loquacious of them all. While her Uncle John created off-the-cuff characters like King Machi-Machi and her Uncle James turned otherwise ordinary moments into O. Henry stories, she would often sit dazzled and silent, thrilled that these were ‘her people,’ as Grandma would say.
Despite the verbal inadequacy that shadowed Heidi whenever she was in her family’s presence, she never stopped writing in secret. Whether it was angsty teen poetry, the personal journals she has since burned (imagine bonfires), passionate letters to the editor, purgative song lyrics, or simply imagined vignettes, Heidi has played with words all of her life.
Bottom line: she loves stories and the people who tell them.

Emaline is one of the most realistic fictional teenage girls that I ever encountered. And god I really loved this book!! It wasn't slow and had no plot holes. It was really well written and though it was cheesy in some parts, it wasn't overwhelmingly cheesy. I love this characters and I love how Sarah Dessen approached her problems. I love how everything ended up in the end!!!! Thank you so much, Sarah!!!!

Waiting on Wednesday: The Liberator by Victoria Scott

***"Waiting on Wednesday" is a weekly event hosted by Jill at the Breaking The Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating.****

My pick this week is:
THE LIBERATOR by Victoria Scott
Expected publication: August 2013
Dante has a shiny new cuff wrapped around his ankle, and he doesn’t like that mess one bit. His new accessory comes straight from Big Guy himself and marks the former demon as a liberator. Despite his gritty past and bad boy ways, Dante Walker has been granted a second chance.
When Dante is given his first mission as a liberator to save the soul of seventeen-year-old Aspen, he knows he’s got this. But Aspen reminds him of the rebellious life he used to live and is making it difficult to resist sinful temptations. Though Dante is committed to living clean for his girlfriend Charlie, this dude’s been a playboy for far too long…and old demons die hard.
With Charlie becoming the girl she was never able to be pre-makeover and Aspen showing him how delicious it feels to embrace his inner beast, Dante will have to go somewhere he never thought he’d return to in order to accomplish the impossible: save the girl he’s been assigned to, and keep the girl he loves.

GUYS!! Do I really have to explain this!! THE COLLECTOR was a wonderful start to the series and made have a love/hate relationship with Dante! This book just seems to look even more promising!!! I love Victoria and if an ARC happens to come by my hands. Well, even better *wink*

THE LIBERATOR by Victoria Scott Exclusive Excerpt and THE COLLECTOR Digital giveaway

I recently got an exclusive excerpt of THE LIBERATOR by Victoria Scott!! I thought it would be lovely to share it with you, my pretties!!!!!

THE LIBERATOR by Victoria Scott. Exclusive Excerpt

When I open my eyes, the sun is trying to murder me. It’s shining on my face and making my head pound. Or maybe it’s my hangover that’s giving me the headache, but nonetheless—me and the sun?—we’re not on friendly terms.
Charlie murmurs beside me. My arms are still wrapped around her waist, and I suddenly realize I must have crashed out in her bed last night. If Grams wakes up and finds me here, she’ll run me a bath…and toss in the toaster.
“Morning, babe,” I whisper.
“Morning, hot stuff,” a distinctly male voice responds.
I whip around, my heart racing, and find Max sitting in a chair across the room.  “You look so hot when you first wake up,” he says. He raises a hand to his hair. “Got that whole sexy bed head thing going on.
Charlie doesn’t even move from her place, but I feel her laughing against me. “Your friend is kind of creepy, Dante,” she manages.
“Max, what the hell are you doing in here?” I ask, pulling the covers farther up even though I’m (regretfully) fully-clothed.
“Real question is, why did I wait so long to join you guys?” Max stands from his chair and cocks his head. A mischievous smile crawls across his face.
“No,” I say, trying to appear serious. “Don’t even think about it, dude.”
Max starts running in place, his smile widening farther until he looks deranged. “Ready or not!” Before I can stop him, Max races toward the bed and dives on top of us. “Oh! Oh it feels even better than I imagined.” He rolls back and forth across our bodies as Charlie laughs and I wonder why I’m friends with such a raging idiot.
With all my strength, I grab Max’s shirt and rotate him toward the edge. He falls off the side, his arms pin-wheeling. There’s a loud thud, and then nothing.
I wait for several seconds before leaning over to search for him. Max is lying face down on the floor, his arms and legs curled like a dead spider. “You’re not really hurt,” I say.
“I think you gave me spinal bifida. You need to call someone.”
“That’s a genetic disorder,” I respond with a sigh, collapsing back onto my pillow. A second later, he raises his head very, very slowly up from the side of the bed. It’s one of the more unsettling things he’s ever done.  “Max, is there a purpose to this visit?” I ask. I want so badly to act like he’s annoying me. But he knows, and I know, that we both love this game: the one where I pretend he’s a pain in my ass, and he acts like a damn circus clown.
He stands up, crosses the room, and plops back down in the chair. “Valery sent me.”
I throw an arm across my eyes. “Of course she did.” Beside me, Charlie moves to get up and I immediately reach for her. She squeals and wiggles out of my grasp.
I watch as she walks around the bed and ruffles Max’s hair. The twenty-eight year old pants like a dog. It’s a bit disturbing considering Charlie’s seventeen. She eyes me with a grin. “I’ll make waffles.”
My face lights up.
“Yes,” she continues. “And bacon.”
I glance at Max and nod toward Charlie. “That’s my girl.”
“Damn straight,” he says.
“I’m still making breakfast for your birthday,” I call after Charlie. Then, looking at Max, I add, “My girl’s going to be legal soon.”
Max says, “Boom.”
Dante, what are you thinking of doing with Charlie when she's legal?
Oh my Dante, Thank you so much, Tori. I don't think I can wait much longer!!!
I hope you enjoyed it The Liberator comes out August 2013!!!!

Review: I love the Hex Hall series and I seriously love Rachel Hawkins!! Izzy is so old!! She was 12 in my mind!! I was so sad when I found out that Finley was gone!! I loved the premise and plot of the book. It flowed smoothly with little to no hitches. I love the introduction of the new characters!! Izzy's mom is still kick butt and will always be kick butt. She mentioned Sophie and Archer!!!!!!!!!!!!! And of course Sassy Torin is Sassy, and it seems that he may like Izzy with someone......
Lovely writing and it moved quickly. It was a good read and will satisfy the reader of Hex Hall.

Truth or Dare Review!!!! Spoilers!!!

                                                    Truth or Dare

When a simple round of truth or dare spins out of control, three girls find it's no longer a party game — it's do or die.
It all started on a whim: The game was a way for Tenley Reed to reclaim her popularity, a chance for perfect Caitlin "Angel" Thomas to prove she's more than her Harvard application. Loner Sydney Morgan wasn't even there; she was hiding behind her camera, as usual. But when all three start receiving mysterious dares long after the party has ended, they're forced to play along — or risk exposing their darkest secrets.
How far will Tenley, Caitlin, and Sydney go to keep the truth from surfacing? And who's behind this twisted game?
Set against the backdrop of Echo Bay, an isolated beach town haunted by misfortune, Truth or Dare is a highly charged debut that will keep readers in suspense from beginning to end.

Review: Well, I have not read a book with teenage girls with issues for a while. This book had a pretty little liars esque tone to it. But rest assured that its completely different. We follow Tenley, Caitlin, and Sydney as they get dares that start to ruin their lives slowly. I really felt bad for Sydney and Caitlin in this book but I really disliked Tenley. I mean this plot gave her room for character development  and she did grow but she used her growth for evil. It took me a while to figure out what Sydney's issue was but once I did, I felt bad for her. Caitlin the Angel, I think I felt the most for this character mostly because all she did was try and get perfect grades to get into Harvard. I loved how the plot allowed all the stories to intertwine. The side characters didn't slow the story but made it better. I recommend this book for the fans of Sara Shepard or anyone really!!!

Alex

THE RULES FOR DISAPPEARING Review!!! Spoilers!!!

The Rules for Disappearing
She's been six different people in six different places: Madeline in Ohio, Isabelle in Missouri, Olivia in Kentucky . . . But now that she's been transplanted to rural Louisiana, she has decided that this fake identity will be her last.
Witness Protection has taken nearly everything from her. But for now, they've given her a new name, Megan Rose Jones, and a horrible hair color. For the past eight months, Meg has begged her father to answer one question: What on earth did he do-or see-that landed them in this god-awful mess? Meg has just about had it with all of the Suits' rules-and her dad's silence. If he won't help, it's time she got some answers for herself.
But Meg isn't counting on Ethan Landry, an adorable Louisiana farm boy who's too smart for his own good. He knows Meg is hiding something big. And it just might get both of them killed. As they embark on a perilous journey to free her family once and for all, Meg discovers that there's only one rule that really matters-survival.

Review: Well, Holy Crud!!!! I really loved this book. I loved how the author approached how Meg's life was falling apart after the event that put them in FBI protection. The plot was beautifully composed and I loved how Ethan was so nosy in order to understand this girl that he has a crush on. It was so hurtful when Meg wouldn't converse with anyone because she was afraid of getting attached to anyone. Did anyone else really hate her old friends until the end?! No? Okay, just me. I loved the plot twist that was the reason that they were in Witness Protection. AND THAT FLIPPING AGENT, LIKE NO!!!

The book is out tomorrow!!!

Peace, Love and Fangirl,
Alex

Interview with Ashley Elston, author of THE RULES FOR DISAPPEARING

Hello, my dearies!! Today on the blog. I have Ashley Elston, the author of THE RULES FOR DISAPPEARING. Here is the Synopsis below!!

He knows Meg is hiding something big. And it just might get both of them killed. As they embark on a perilous journey to free her family once and for all, Meg discovers that there's only one rule that really matters-survival.

Q: Will THE RULES FOR DISAPPEARING be a series?
A: Yes, there will be two books. I'm currently working on book two revisions and I'm so excited about where this story is going.
Q: What inspired you to write about a girl in Witness Protection?
A: I’ve always been fascinated with the Witness Protection Program. And I always wondered how families react once they’re inside the program – do they pull together and become stronger or do they fall apart? That idea was so interesting to me

Q: How do you think you would feel if you were in Meg's place?

A: Scared. And confused. And probably really sad having to leave everything I knew behind. I think it has to be tough to completely change who you are and not tell anyone your real identity.

Q: Are you prepared for the fandom that this book could have?

A: Ha! Good question. Probably not. It’s still surreal to me that I published a book so it is beyond my wildest dreams to think of it having a fandom.

Q: What was your writing process like?

A: With three kids and a small business – I write whenever I find a
spare moment! Mostly at night when the kids are asleep and the house is quiet. And then it’s fast and furious.

Q: How did you deal with writer's block?

A: I didn’t really have writer’s block when working on this book. I would get stuck but I think that was more about figuring out what wasn’t working with the story. I would good back to a point where
it all felt right and then start again from there.

And as Porky the pig would say " That's all, folks!"

Check out THE RULES FOR DISAPPEARING in bookstores May 14, 2013 a.k.a tomorrow!!!

Check out my review of the book, it will be published in a few minutes!!

Peace, Love, and Fangirl,

Alex

You Look Different In Real Life Review!!! Spoilers!!!

An ARC was given to me for review purpose
Justine charmed the nation in a documentary film featuring five kindergartners. Five years later, her edgy sense of humor made her the star of a second movie that caught up with the lives of the same five kids.

Now Justine is sixteen, and another sequel is in the works. Justine isn’t ready to have viewers examining her life again. She feels like a disappointment, not at all like the girl everyone fell in love with in the first two movies. But, ready or not, she and the other four teens will soon be in front of the cameras again.

You Look Different in Real Life

Review:
You know those books that you start reading because you think that it won't hurt and be a quick and easy read? I thought this was one of those and I was so wrong.
This book is all the problems of growing up and being a teenager and having a movie about it. When you first meet Justine, you see how her life has gone one with the twists and turns and ups and downs. We see how she dreads having to do the movie and all her opinions of her co-stars who, once upon a time, were her friends.
This book is heart-breaking, with a plot to kill for. It didn't have a dull moment, and you loved all the characters (mostly). It deals with problems that every person faces but you know these poor kids have it recorded and shown to the world.
I felt so connected to the book that I admit that I started sobbing. I had to take breaks in order to not kill myself with feelings. This book is awesome and I recommend it to people who enjoy John Green and Sarah Dessen.

Peace, Love and Fangirl,
Alex

BANG Review!!!! Spoilers!!!!

An ARC was given to me by the publisher for review purposes

Jules should be happy. She saved a lot of people’s lives and she’s finally with Sawyer, pretty much the guy of her dreams. But the nightmare’s not over, because she somehow managed to pass the psycho vision stuff to Sawyer. Excellent.

Feeling responsible for what he’s going through and knowing that people’s lives are at stake, Jules is determined to help him figure it all out. But Sawyer’s vision is so awful he can barely describe it, much less make sense of it. All he can tell her is there’s a gun, and eleven ear-splitting shots. Bang.

Jules and Sawyer have to work out the details fast, because the visions are getting worse and that means only one thing: time is running out. But every clue they see takes them down the wrong path. If they can’t prevent the vision from happening, lives will be lost. And they may be among the casualties…

Review:

Well. Holy crud!!! This book was full of emotion, and adventure, tragedy and angst. And hot makeout sessions...

I didnt feel overwhelmed with this book, but I felt that Lisa Mcmann did a wonderful job putting in the teenage drama, with the consequences of the fued between families.

Sawyer and Jules's relationship was full of angst and fluff. I cried alot!!!!!

The fact that Jules's thinks that she passed on the vision thing makes a great concept. I can't wait until everything unravels further..

From Jules's family restaurant,

Peace, Love and Fangirl,

Alex B.
